A Fourth of July Giveaway!

Why, yes! Yes, I am going to give something away. Why?? Well, you see we will be celebrating Independence Day, and if that were not enough, since my brother is fighting at this very moment to keep our freedom intact.....I thought why not :D

But, first, let me share a story about Chisum. Chisum? That darling precious little angel that has attempted to burn the house down, make a hide out by cutting the back out of the brand new couch, and feels the world is his canvas......literally!! Yep, that little sweetheart that I can never stay mad at :) It has been quite boring around here lately since all of the boys have been in the hayfield. Just me and the girls, and we are boring. Well, except for the fact that while we were sitting at the doctor's office yesterday (I have another kidney infection - but not near as bad as last time) and I was attempting to have an oh so tender mother-daughter talk with Miss Shelby. She looked me straight in the eye, raised her hand, and nonchalantly said to me, "Talk To The Hand!!" Who? What? Where? Oh, no you didn't!! But, she did! My six year old told me to talk to the hand. I am wondering, just talking out loud (or typing in public) will she only grow to be more of a handful? Hmmm...there will definitely be some interesting times ahead.

So, back to my baby! Yesterday evening, the kids were swimming in the pool, and I was happy just to watch them. Sometimes I really enjoy watching the kids and how they are always attempting something new, or trying to show up their siblings. Apparently, we have a family of "If you can do it, I can do it better" children. Competition, you say? Nah, just nudging! We are very blessed that all of the kids can swim on their own. Of course, the older ones can dive and do flips off of the diving board. So, being the "I can do it better" children that Chisum and Shelby are, they have been attempting to learn to dive. Chisum is having a much easier time with it, while Shelby just can't grasp that her hands go in first. She will bend her body, and I keep telling her to just fall in where her hands, then head, then body, and last her feet go in the water. So, she basically bends her body, puts her hands out to dive, and jumps in feet first! I thought maybe I could help her if I physically held her body and attempted to lead her into the water. We tried several times off of the side in the deep end, but there wasn't enough room between her and the water. I decided that I would help her go off of the diving board. I was still in my clothes from going to the doctor. You know, a nice (really cute) shirt, and a skirt.......Do you see where this is going? I stepped up on the diving board, and tried to help her get the feel of it. Well, while she was entering the water, something knocked me off balance. Or should I say someone? Yep, sweet, little, oh-my-last-baby-so-you-can-have-whatever-you-want Chisum was trying to push me in the water. I wobbled for a few seconds but then I was able to balance myself back out, and I was just turning to get on to him...BAM!!! His little arms, with muscles that I didn't know he had, shoved me right off of the diving board and into the water! I have been thrown in many times, pushed in, but never by a 4 year old. He looked at me this morning, and has already reminded me that he pushed me in. Tricked and shoved me in I believe are much more appropriate terms. So...I went swimming. I did change and put on a swim suit though LOL

Now, on to the giveaway! If you have come here at all, you know that I love to give things away :D Well, everyone is loving Shimmerz Spritz right now, plus I was able to get my hands on a couple of brand new Nikki Silvis' Paper lines. So, I want to give someone 3 bottles of Spritz and some brand new Nikki Silvis paper. Shimmerz has also started a publication incentive and if your project gets published and you have used and listed any Shimmerz product, Shimmerz will reward you! You can click here to read all about it.

Also, over at Scrapbook Circle, the July kit was just released. Talk about GORGEOUS!!! It has the latest Cosmo Cricket papers, some of which are used in this layout!

This is probably my most favorite kit that Scrapbook Circle has ever come out with. Last I heard, there were only a few left, so you will want to run over to Scrapbook Circle and get one before they are gone. You will definitely not be disappointed with this kit.

That is about it for now. I am going to go and lay down for a bit. It might be the antibiotic that is making me tired, or just the kidney infection itself. I hope everyone has a wonderful, fantastic Fourth of July!! May each day be filled with sunshine and fireworks :D Thank to all of our veterans and men and women now serving in the military. Without them, we wouldn't be able celebrate our Independence each year!

**Make sure to leave your comment on this post so you can have a shot at winning the giveaway. You can leave 1 comment a day!!! I will keep this going until July 6, and announce the winner on July 7 :)

HI Danielle from Canberra Australia - your story is so funny and reminded me of my kids when they were a bit younger....now my DD1 at 13 puts her hand up and says 'SHUN!!' I am not sure which is more devastation - at least 'talk to the hand' has more words in it! LOL!!
Thanks for the opportunity to play for the lovely SHIMMERZ products - we can't get them here, so winning some would be a real PLUS!!! I am off to check about the SB pages with shimmerz, as I did win one pot of it in a CANDY and am yet to use it! God bless you..I will pray for you...I am a diabetic and know that it can be like - not fun!!! {{{HUGS}}}

Hey Danielle! I love your blog! It's so nice to read that someone else is "irked" by the idol crown people are placing on MJ. It's rediculous! You can appreciate his music and be sad for his passing without placing him on a pedestal! You are so right! I have to check out your bible study. I just started taking a "First Principles" class to join a local Christian church called Rock Church. I was saved a month or two ago and feel wonderful about finally being part of a church that makes me feel like I learn something new every service!
Anyway, have a great day!
